Lost in Translation

In September 2019 Corinne & I had a fantiastic trip to China – just before the pandemic – including a visit to Wuhan. One of the funnier parts of the trip was looking at the English translations of the signs. Something was definitely lost in translation.

A good effort – obviously this floor is as slippery as “L”

An emergent exit is hopefully appearing…

I had no intention of climbing on this huge dam across the Yangtze!

Almost right…

A commendable sentiment…

I wouldn’t be able to get it in my suitcase…

I will pay attention to anyone slipping…

Not a hot tip… just a warm one…

Everything seems to be an emergency… water… toilets…medical treatment…

Fashion restaurant? Fashionable…maybe?

One that they got right!

No burning? Certainly not!

I think that’s better than approaching this unconsciously…
